CPR & Other Classes for the Public


Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a critical skill that can be learned by almost anyone to protect the lives of loved ones or friends.


The Washington Township Fire Department offers three types of classes through the American Heart Association:

  • Heartsaver CPR AED - This course trains participants to give CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

  • Heartsaver CPR AED Course with First Aid - This course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

  • Healthcare Providers - This course is designed for healthcare professionals and others who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and pre-hospital settings.

Heartsaver CPR AED

Th Heartsaver CPR AED course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory, or other requirements.

Dates & Times
Classes will be held on the following dates:

  • Monday, February 23, 2026 at 5:30 pm

  • Monday, March 23, 2026 at 5:30 pm

  • Monday, April 20, 2026 at 5:30 pm

Location
Classes take place at the Washington Township Fire Department Training Center, 8320 McEwen Road.

Registration

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED

The Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job or other requirements, or for anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

Dates & Times
Classes will be held on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 6 pm

  • Monday, January 26, 2026 at 5:30 pm

  • Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 1 pm

Location
Classes take place at the Washington Township Fire Department Training Center, 8320 McEwen Road.

Registration

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

The Basic Life Support course is designed for people who are medically licensed or certified (EMT, RN, MD, DO, nursing students, or nurse assistants). Instruction includes adult, child, and infant CPR, as well as AED instruction.

Dates & Times
Classes will be held on the following dates:  

  • Monday, February 2, 2026 at 9 am

  • Monday, March 9, 2026 at 5:30 pm

  • Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 9:00 am

Location
Classes take place at the Washington Township Fire Department Training Center, 8320 McEwen Road.

Registration
The cost for this class is $40. Click here to register and make an online payment for the Basic Life Support class.



Other Classes
